Fort Wayne, Indiana, considered naming its new government building after former mayor Harry Baals, who was a well-respected public figure. Baals, the city’s longest-serving mayor, was known for his contributions to infrastructure and development. However, due to the humorous nature of his name, despite receiving over 23,000 votes in a public poll, the city decided against it, opting for the name "Citizens Square" instead. Many still recognize the building as the "Harry Baals Government Center" unofficially.
