Why Most Millennials Are Living Close To Home

More-so than any previous generations, Millennials aren't leaving the nest. We're not talking about living mom and dad's basement, but rather how Millennials are moving... but not far from home.

Harvard University teamed up with the U.S. Census Bureau and conducted a study that found that (by age 26) more than 2/3rds of Millennials live in the same area where they grew up. And if they chose to move away, 80% moved less than 100 miles away and 90% moved less than 500 miles away.

Of those that moved, the most popular destinations were New York, Los Angeles, Washington, D.C. and Atlanta. And where they moved, as the study determined, varied by race:
