IHOP and Pepsi have teamed up to create something we possibly didn't know we needed:
Maple Syrup Pepsi
This limited edition flavor, described as "the indulgent flavor profile of maple syrup with the crisp, refreshing caramel notes of a Pepsi", won't be available in stores. You can't get it at IHOP locations either. Instead, Pepsi and pancake fanatics can win the soda via a social media giveaway.
Now through March 29, head over to Instagram or Twitter to post a photo/video of a stack of pancakes. You have to tag @IHOP and use the hashtags #ShowUsYourStack and #PepsiSweepstakes. 2,000 winners will be selected. One lucky winner will also be "surprised with a custom Pepsi Spout, inspired by the iconic IHOP syrup pitchers, that will produce the perfect pour to enjoy Pepsi Maple Syrup Cola."
Regarding their recent announcement of this iconic flavor, IHOP's Chief Marketing Officer Kieran Donahue had this to say:
"At IHOP we celebrate our history of bringing folks together and providing a sense of togetherness, belonging and joy when they dine with us. We are thrilled to partner with Pepsi to have some fun and create a moment for our guests to bring home an additional source of happiness with this limited-edition Pepsi Maple Syrup Cola."
And Pepsi's chief marketing officer Todd Kaplan added:
"It isn't often we get to bring together two iconic brands to satisfy the cravings of pancake and Pepsi lovers alike."
But don't look forward to a short stack with an IHOP maple syrup Pepsi anytime soon, as the cola company has made it abundantly clear they will not be making the limited edition flavor available at IHOP locations.
