And all these years later, this is what Nikki Sixx had to say:
In the responses to the tweet, one fan recommended Pearl Jam songs to her friend, who just had a baby.
Nikki wrote back:

This animosity stems from Vedder, who in a a recent article described Crue as "the 4 fellas and their whole vibe, well, thin on substance".
Vedder even went onto say:
I'd end up being at shows that I wouldn't have chosen to go to -- bands that monopolized late-'80s MTV. The metal bands that -- I'm trying to be nice -- I despised. Girls, Girls, Girls and Mötley Crüe: f*** you. I hated it. I hated how it made the fellas look. I hated how it made the women look. It felt so vacuous."
