Students Arrested For Alleged Stockton School Shooting Threat

The San Joaquin County Sheriff's Office says they prevented a possible shooting at a Stockton school on Thursday. Two students are facing possible charges after allegedly making a shooting threat against Franklin High School.

Sheriff's investigators were assisted by law enforcement officials with the Stockton Unified School District Police Department overnight Wednesday, and they made the arrests prior to the start of school Thursday morning. Both student suspects were taken to the San Joaquin County Juvenile Detention Facility.

Sheriff's Office officials are crediting school district law enforcement assistance for identifying the suspects and the fact they were taken in custody so quickly.

There was a larger than normal number of officers on the Franklin High campus Thursday to ensure the safety of students, teachers, and administrative staff.
