Today's Procession Route For Funeral Of Sacramento Police Officer

The funeral service for the Officer Tara O'Sullivan take place at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 27 at Bayside Church Adventure Campus, located at 6401 Stanford Ranch Road in Roseville. News 93.1 KFBK will have live coverage of the service. An interactive map of the procession route that will be used following the funeral may be seen below. You should expect major traffic delays along the procession route, so you'll want to plan accordingly.

There will also be a candlelight vigil honoring Officer O'Sullivan Wednesday June 26 at 8:00 p.m.

The procession is expected to leave Bayside Church at 1:15 p.m. and arrive in the Elk Grove area at 2:30 p.m. It will travel westbound on Interstate 80 until the Marysville Boulevard exit, move south on Marysville Boulevard past Officer O’Sullivan's police station at 3550 Marysville Boulevard, head east on Arcade Boulevard until reaching the Capital City Freeway, continue westbound on the Capital City Freeway and eventually southbound on Interstate 99, until reaching the Elk Grove area. Once in the Elk Grove area, the procession will travel to private events restricted to the O’Sullivan family and Law Enforcement Personnel.

O’Sullivan suffered gunshot wounds while assisting on a domestic disturbance call in north Sacramento. She was eventually taken to a local area hospital where, despite the efforts of emergency personnel, she later died from her wounds.

O’Sullivan as hired by the Sacramento Police Department in January of 2018, and she worked as a community service officer until entering at the police academy as a recruit in July of that year. O'Sullivan graduated from the academy in December of 2018 and was working with a training officer at time of her death. She was also part of the inaugural 2017 Sacramento State University Law Enforcement Candidate Scholars graduate class.
