Study Ranks California 2nd In States With Most Psychopaths

Are Californians crazier than the average American?

According to a recent study, we may be.

Ryan Murphy, an economist at Southern Methodist University, was in charge of the study that combined two past research papers he had done to discover which states had the most and least psychopathic people.

He used terms including disinhibition, boldness, and meanness to define psychopathy.

Murphy looked at data on homicide rates and the percentage of states’ populations living in urban areas.

The top five states psychopathic areas to live in the U.S were the District of Columbia (Washington D.C.), Connecticut, California and New Jersey with New York and Wyoming tied for fifth place.

Research found that the more populated a region, the more psychopaths it had.

The least psychopathic states were West Virginia, Vermont, Tennessee, North Carolina, and New Mexico.

Murphy's study hasn't completed the peer review process yet, so it's appropriate to approach its results with some skepticism.
