On This Day In 1976 George Harrison Duet With Paul Simon On SNL

48 years ago today, on November 20, 1976, George Harrison attempted to take SNL producer Lorne Michaels up on an offer to pay The Beatles $3,000 to perform. Harrison was the musical guest and even helped Michaels with the cold-opening skit about getting paid. The host that week was Paul Simon, and the two gave us two of SNL's all-time classic performances. "Here Comes the Sun" and "Homeward Bound," with Paul and George singing verses of the other’s compositions.

It was magical... watch!
