A Spanish zookeeper found herself at the hands of a 440 pound adult male gorilla, Malabo, who went to great lengths to get at her. He plowed through three security doors to reach her, landing her in the hospital in serious condition with head and chest injuries and two broken arms.
The zoo team managed to separate the animal from 46 year old zookeeper, with two decades of experience, using anesthesia and tranquilizer darts to subdue the primate. Malabo is still alive and authorities are investigating the reason for the attack and faulty security doors.
