This car is really fun to drive and if you know anything about cars, it truly is a technological and mechanical marvel, to make 310 HP out of a 4cyl, is really pretty crazy! Even more insane; (for a few more bucks) you can get the same car we drove, which is punched up to 390 HP from the dealer - covered under warranty. Making this Mustang the fastest 4cyl on the market, with 15 HP more than the MB AMG, and a whole helluva lot cheaper! (My 98 Cobra only had 305 HP out of a 32V 4.6 V8)!
You loose the rumble of the 5.0 but gain 21city/31hwy! I wish it had a little more torque (350 lb ft) but if you use the turbo and keep it spooled, you’ll never miss it. And considering this engine is more than half the size of the 5.0 (that gives you 420 lb ft of torque) this EcoBoost actually has good oomph!
If you take a DogAndJoeSho Test Drive, make sure you drive the 6spd manual AND the 10spd SelectShift sequential auto (that we had) to see which you like better. I really like this new transmission but it may be a bit much for a Mustang, I would get the manual.
Last but not least, this Mustang still looks like a MUSTANG! It doesn’t look like a 4cyl, or a 6 cyl. It looks just like a 5.0, minus the legendary badge! 19” wheels, 3 drive modes, reverse camera, and dual exhaust!
