Metallica's Black Album Has Just Hit An Impressive New Mark

Metallica's The Black Album, which went for a more mainstream rock sound in 1991, is only the 4th album in Billboard 200 album chart history now, to be on the chart for 500 weeks.

The only others to achieve this rare feat are Bob Marley and The Wailers' Legend: The Best of Bob Marley and The Wailers record, and Journey's Greatest Hits, which have both spent 539 weeks each on the chart. Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon, is the leader of them all, spending 937 weeks on the chart. That's about 18 years.
