Two Unique Bay Area Parks Set To Open In 2019

Caltrans park planners got their $52 million proposal to convert four piers near the old Bay Bridge into twin parks recently got approved.

Both parks will have views of the eastern part of the Bay Bridge and will include a pedestrian overpass that leads to an observation deck on Yerba Buena Island and a 600-foot walkway that goes Oakland's shoreline.

Development teams have been looking at the area as a possible location for a park since 2014. 

The proposal states that construction will likely be done sometime in 2019.
