Swingers Take Over San Francisco

Single wooden swings were found hanging all over San Francisco during the weekend.

With the hashtag "#swingbombSF" painted on the bottom of the swings' seats, the mysterious group that put them up claims on their Instagram to have installed upwards of 50 swings in an attempt to turn the city into a "pop-up playground."

Residents and tourists seem to be enjoying the playful experiment. Comments on their Instagram include sentiments like "thanks for making San Francisco fun again" and "I ❤️ this soooo much!"

Repost @josiahq #swingbombsf ・・・ The list of reasons to love San Francisco are nearly endless and discovering that some 50+ swings were hung all over the city this weekend is just the latest. Finding the swings is a scavenger hunt since no map of their locations was posted. A hunt that is becoming increasingly difficult as more and more swings come down.

City officials have begun removing them since the SwingBomb organizers did not get permits to put them up.

No one knows if the group will hang more swings in the future.
