West Point Accepts Parkland JROTC Student

Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School student Peter Wang, who gallantly helped his peers escape their classroom by holding the door open during the Parkland shooting on Feb. 14, has posthumously been appointed a member of U.S. Military Academy West Point's class of 2025.

The Sun-Sentinel reported that the 15-year-old JROTC student, one of 17 people who lost their lives, dreamed of attending the academy one day.

His parents and two younger brothers will receive a letter of admission and honorary medals and tolkens from prestigious West Point.

Wang was laid to rest on Tuesday.
