Judas Priest Guitarist Not Touring Due To Parkinson's disease

On their Facebook page this morning, Judas Priest announced that their guitarist Glenn Tipton won't be joining the group on their next tour because of his struggle with Parkinson's disease.

Although Tipton was diagnosed with Parkinson's a decade ago, he continued with the band and forged ahead with great performances. In a statement it says:

"From then until recently Glenn has lived his life as the great heavy metal guitar player he has always been, maintaining by his own definition a standard of quality and performance that is incredibly important."

Tipton also says that he's still in the band, and he may join them at some point on the road, just not now. "I want everyone to know that it’s vital that the Judas Priest tour go ahead and that I am not leaving the band - it’s simply that my role has changed. I don’t rule out the chance to go on stage as and when I feel able to blast out some Priest!"
