The FDA is sending out a new warning about bone treats that are store bought. There have been 70 illnesses and 15 deaths reported.
Bone treats “Ham Bones,” “Pork Femur Bones,” “Rib Bones” and “Smokey Knuckle Bones" are to blame.
Some of these treats may have seasonings and smoke flavorings.
The FDA is looking into several illnesses, which include these listed below.
- Gastrointestinal obstruction (blockage in the digestive tract)
- Cuts and wounds in the mouth or on the tonsils
- Bleeding from the rectum, and/or
- Death. Approximately fifteen dogs reportedly died after eating a bone treat.
