Remember When KISS Removed Their Makeup For The First Time?

I remember watching this live on MTV. On this date in 1983, KISS was looking for a way to reignite their careers, something their 1982 record "Creatures of the Night" didn't do.

Paul Stanley decided it was time to take off their makeup. They seemed pretty nervous doing it too.

It got the attention of music fans around the world, and the stunt worked. Lick It Up ended up being a big record for the group. It gave the band another generation of fans, and a string of successful albums and tours that followed.
