After 48 Years, Yoko Ono Gets Co-Song Writing Credit For "Imagine"

After nearly 48 years, Yoko Ono will finally get a songwriting credit for her role in John Lennon's classic "Imagine."

David Israelite, the chief executive of the National Music Publishers Association, announced Wednesday, as the song was honored with the association’s “Centennial Song” award, that Ms. Ono would be added as a writer.

This interview from 1980, has John Lennon saying himself that she was highly instrumental in the songs success, and Lennon also explains why he didn't include her in the first place.
