New York Mets To Celebrate 60th Anniversary Of Beatles Concert At Shea Stadium

The New York Mets are set to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Beatles' performance at Shea Stadium this week.Friday's celebration will begin with a performance by 1964 The Tribute in front of Shea Bridge at 6:15 Eastern Time.The Mets will also be hosting the Seattle Mariners for The Beatles Night at Citi Field. The first pitch will be thrown by members of the game-day staff who worked the Beatles' famous concert.The 1965 performance by the band marked the first time a rock band performed a major stadium concert. 

Eric Clapton pays tribute to Bobby Whitlock, his Derek and the Dominos bandmate, who had died, aged 77

Memphis musician Bobby Whitlock, known for his collaborations with Eric Clapton and George Harrison, has passed away at the age of 77. Whitlock began his career at Stax Records in the '60s before joining Delaney & Bonnie and later forming Derek and the Dominos with Clapton. He played a significant role in the Layla and Other Assorted Love Songs album but claimed that Rita Coolidge was not credited for her contribution to the piano coda on "Layla." Whitlock continued his music career and reunited with Clapton in 2000 on the BBC's Later... with Jools Holland show. Clapton and others have paid tribute to Whitlock following his death.

Mother Love Bone's Shine EP, Debut Album Apple To Receive Vinyl Reissues

Mother Love Bone's debut EP, "Shine," and their 1990 album, "Apple," are being reissued on vinyl and CD next month. In celebration of the 35th anniversary of "Apple," the vinyl will feature remastered audio for the first time since its original release. It will also come in several colors. The CD version will include two bonus tracks. The "Shine" reissue will also be remastered and available in several colors. A standalone CD reissue will feature one bonus track. Both albums will be available on September 26th.

Styx shares official video for Circling From Above track ‘Forgive’

Styx has released a new video for their song "Forgive" from the album Circling From Above. The video features animated drawings telling stories of forgiveness, including a couple on the verge of a breakup and soldiers in battle. This is the second track released from the album, following "Build and Destroy." Styx is currently on tour with REO Speedwagon's Kevin Cronin and Don Felder.
