Another popular restaurant chain has joined the growing list of closures plaguing America with locations shuttering across four states including California. According to The Daily Mail, beloved Italian staple Buca di Beppo ceased operations at 13 locations across America this week, with little notice to employees.

The popular family-style dining chain has shuttered its Sacramento location (near Cal Expo on 1249 Howe Avenue), and regular patrons and former employees are absolutely "shocked." Former employee Jayden Seizmore expressed sheer disbelief to Fox40, referring to the unfortunate news as a "big deal."

"Just knowing this place has been open for so long and it’s closing…is a big deal." Rozalyn Marc-Aurele, who worked at the Howe Avenue location for four years, called the announcement an "abrupt end."

“Being able to work here and having the experience that I did here, it’s just really sad that it abruptly came to an end. It’s very disheartening to have everything come to an end.” After 25 years in business, the cherished Sacramento Buca di Beppo posted a sign on their door upon closure that read:

"We are thankful to you, our loyal guests, for giving us the opportunity to serve you. It’s with great appreciation and gratitude that we say thank you for all the years."

Buca di Beppo restaurants in Michigan, Florida, and Pennsylvania also permanently closed their doors this week.
