Saudi Arabia has been working on converting an oil rig into a 150,000 square meter "extreme park", located in the Arabian Gulf. Funded by Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund (PIF), The Rig will have three hotels and eleven restaurants, plus roller coaster rides, bungee jumping and skydiving.
The PIF released the following the statement:
"This project is a unique tourism attraction, expected to attract tourists from around the world."
There is no completion date for The Rig has not been announced yet. The aim is to reposition Saudi Arabia as an international tourist destination.
