Jeff Bezos is set to launch into space on July 20th on the Blue Origin rocket's first civilian flight, which will take place for roughly 11 minutes. And after announcing that he and his brother are going into space, two petitions surfaced, collecting signatures to prevent Bezos from returning to Earth. In roughly 10 days, 23,000 people have signed the Change.org petition. The petition states:
"Billionaire's should not exist...on earth, or in space, but should they decide the latter they should stay there."
Some of the people who have signed the petition have explained why they've signed it:
"Being let back into Earth is a privilege - not a right"
"Earth don't want people like Jeff, Bill [Gates], Elon [Musk] and other such billionaires"
The other petition, "Petition To Not Allow Jeff Bezos Re-Entry To Earth", has also garnered 18,000+ signatures. In this petition, Bezos is described as:
"an evil overlord hellbent on global domination"
The petitions are seeking 25,000 signatures each, which would make them both the top signed petitions on Change.org.
