US Navy's Pilotless Tanker Plane Refueled Aircraft Carrier Fighter Jet

The U.S. Navy has a new unmanned tanker aircraft, Boeing MQ-25 Stingray test drone, that just successfully refueled an aircraft carrier (an F/A-18 Super Hornet) for the first time. Per the Navy, this mission demonstrated that the new unmanned aircraft "can fulfill its tanker mission." You can watch it happen below:

Both aircraft flew at "operationally relevant speeds and altitudes" with the F/A-18 as close as 20 feet behind the unmanned aerial-refueling tanker. The MQ-25 is set to increase the range and endurance of the future carrier air wing. It is also expected to provide additional intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance capabilities to Navy aircraft carriers as well.
