Cal ISO Issues Flex Alert Today

California’s Independent System Operator has issued a statewide Flex Alert for 3 p.m. to 10 p.m today.

Temperatures are expected to be 15-25 degrees above normal throughout the state, Cal ISO says.

Cal ISO wants you to cool your homes before 3 p.m., then turn up the thermostat to 78 degrees or higher, after 3 p.m. Major appliances are requested to be used late in the evening.

The alert comes after PG&E, instituted a shutoff in parts of 24 counties, affecting 53,000 customers.
