Alice Cooper Wants Johnny Depp To Play Him In A Biopic

Alice Cooper is all for a biopic being made about his life and career, but he'd prefer the film arrive out while still around to enjoy it.

The Godfather of Shock Rock says the ups and downs he's gone through are perfect fodder for a Hollywood dramatization, a la recent smash hit music biopic's like Elton John's Rocketman or Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody.

Cooper tells Yahoo! Entertainment that there's no better man to portray him than his own Hollywood Vampires bandmate, Johnny Depp.

"Usually it's gonna happen with bands that were extremely commercially successful, whereas Alice was successful and we sold a lot of records, but I did not appeal to everybody; I was definitely on the darker side," Cooper observed. "And I think that it would make a great movie, myself.

He continued: "And if Johnny Depp were just better looking, he could play me. Johnny would be the best guy to pay me, because he really like to take those characters that nobody else wants to play. And he loves prosthetics — he would get my nose in there and the whole thing like that. He knows me well enough now where he could imitate me pretty well, I'm pretty sure."

Depp and Cooper struck up a friendship in 2012 after meeting on the set of Depp's film Dark Shadows, in which Cooper made a cameo. About three years later, they started Hollywood Vampires, a nod to Cooper's infamous club of celebrity drinkers that convened regularly at the Rainbow Bar and Grill in Los Angeles.

Since the band Hollywood Vampires played mostly covers when it first formed, Cooper has often affectionately called it the world's most expensive bar band.
