Tuesday, April 7th saw the opening of a drive through testing site here in Sacramento at Cal Expo. The free drive up coronavirus program is sponsored by Verily (sister company of Google) and is called Project Baseline.
The initiative's goal is to close the gap on the lack of testing conducted throughout the state for COVID-19. The testing is still limited (you can't just drive up to get tested). People experiencing symptoms can visit the Project Baseline website and fill out a questionnaire to see if they qualify for the in person test.
The service is being operated by country agencies and is not intended for persons with severe coronavirus symptoms. Persons that are over 60, have existing health conditions, or are a health workers are just a few of the priorities for testing.
Additional sites have been opened in San Mateo and Santa Clara. Here's to hoping that expanded testing will help us bend the curve!! #BeWell
