Did Johnny Depp Just Rehearse With Stone Temple Pilots?

Unless Johnny Depp just brings a guitar wherever he goes nowadays, it certainly appears the Oscar-nominated actor has jammed with Stone Temple Pilots

But that raises the question: Will he be joining the band onstage in the future?

A group photo STP bassist Robert DeLeo recently uploaded to Twitter shows Depp with the band in its rehearsal space. Depp has one arm around the bassist and in his other hand he's holding a Telecaster.

"Had a dear friend come by yesterday for the last STP rehearsal," DeLeo wrote.

Whether STP and Depp were just having a good time or if Depp is going to at some point perform with STP remains to be seen.

STP have announced tour dates from May through June, so Depp will theoretically be free for a guest appearance until Hollywood Vampires' European tour begins in late-May

Depp and DeLeo are bandmates in the Hollywood Vampires supergroup collective, that also includes Alice Cooper, Aerosmith's Joe Perry, Guns N' Roses bassist Duff McKagan and former GNR drummer Matt Sorum, among a larger cast of rock 'n' rollers.

Cooper recently said he expects Hollywood Vampires to begin work on a new album this summer after the band completes its European tour.

"Johnny did five movies last year so he could free himself up for this, and the band's really anxious to get together," Cooper said.

Cooper added that he hopes more rock royalty will hop into the studio with the band to record the new album.

"If somebody wants to jump onstage and play with us, if they know the songs and they fit, then come on up," he said. "If a Jimmy Page could come up and play with us, or a Jeff Beck or any of those guys and do a couple songs with us, they would fit right into Vampire world, 'cause they lived through that era."

For their part, STP recently released the single, "The Art of Letting Go," from the band's forthcoming album.

The song is the first release to feature new STP frontman Jeff Gutt on vocals. You can check it out below.
