Car Parked For 47 Years Becomes A Monument

In the town of Conegliano (Italy), Angelo Fregolent (94) parked his car outside his newsstand in 1974 and never came back. The vehicle left behind: a gray Lancia Fulvia 1962, a compact four-door. It has since become a tourist attraction, with a marker on Google Maps and many people snapping selfies with it on social media.

Fregolent ran the newsstand with his wife for 40 years with his wife, Bertilla. The vehicle was originally parked out front, where he had the newspapers unloaded in the trunk, which made loading them indoors easier to the husband-wife duo. The town of Conegliano moved the car at one point (because it blocked flow of traffic and pedestrians) and displayed at tAuto e Moto d'Epoca motor show in Padua. It has since been returned to the garden of the Cerletti Enological School, which is across from the newsstand, where is now safely operating as an official local landmark.
