Phyllis Pena, a Texas mother, saw a peeping Tom outside her daughter's bedroom and let her mama bear instincts take hold, tackling the fleeing suspect to the ground:
The perpetrator has been identified as 19-year-old Zane Hawkins. The footage above is from a dashcam of an officer that arrived to the scene, placing Hawkins under arrest after Pena apprehended him.
Pena says:
“The cop fist-bumped me and he was like, ‘Hey, so I heard the Texans are looking for a new linebacker.’”
Lake Jackson Police Sgt. Roy Welch said:
“It’s not very often that we have somebody that actually steps in, puts themself in harm’s way to assist in apprehending somebody.”
Hawkins since been booked for resisting arrest, evading arrest and possession, according to the Brazoria County Sheriff’s Office.
