Not many bands can say they have a sea creature named after them, but now Metallica can! Dr. Torben Riehl and Dr. Bart De Smet of Ghent University in Belgium discovered this new crustacean species and Dr. Riehl decided to name it after his favorite rock band. The sea crustacean was discovered in the Northern Pacifica Ocean. The creature, Macrostylis Metallicola, lives deep within the dark depths of the ocean in total darkness. Another one for the books for Metallica!
