Kids Break $64,000 Glass Replica of Disney Castle

Shanghai Museum of Glass in China had a glass replica of the Disney castle that cost $64,000 and took 500 hours to make. The castle was designed by the Arribas Brothers, in the U.S. The 132 pound castle was given to the museum in 2016, decorate with 24 karat gold and is composed of 30,000 pieces. But fate of the beautiful glass replica is a sad one after the museum took to Weibo (Chinese social media website) saying that it was unfortunately broken by “two little visitors” in May.

We've seen the store dozens of times. Two children climbed over the barrier and accidentally knocked the glass case that housed the $64k Disney castle, which caused part of the castle to shatter.

The museum posted this to their social media page:

“The little visitors knew that their behaviour was inappropriate, and, under the encouragement of their parents, reported the incident to the museum staff. Their attitudes were friendly and sincere, and they agreed to help out with follow-up matters.”

The museum has since released a broken glass exhibit BRKN:

Way to make lemonade, Shanghai Museum of Glass!
