A Lodi dad's good deed didn't work out quite as planned.

A Lodi father, trying to raise money to take his family to Disneyland for his daughter's 8th birthday, decided to sell his car on Craigslist, but it wasn't enough.

Rosario Yepiz drove the car while a prospective buyer rode in the passenger seat, and about halfway through the drive, the passenger wanted to switch places sp Yepiz pulled over.

"He jumped to the driver's seat and he pushed me out," Yepiz said.

A woman the man said was his wife sped off, that's when Yepiz's wife, waiting for his return in a separate car, knew something was wrong.

His wife wrote down her license plate number, because she felt that something wasn't quite right.

The license plate number didn't help much as that car had also been stolen in Sacramento.

The family hopes to make it to Disneyland next year.
