Placer County Sheriff's investigators believe a call from a concerned citizen may have helped them stop a string of vehicle burglaries.

The caller told deputies about a suspicious man in a Granite Bay neighborhood early this morning. 49-year-old Felipe Castro was questioned and released but deputies kept an eye on the car he was standing near.

A short time later, 31-year-old Joshua Lowe got in and drove away with Castro.

Deputies pulled the car over and found meth and stolen stereo equipment in the vehicle. Investigators believe the pair had a hand in a series of burglaries in three different Granite Bay neighborhoods over the past week.
