California has been found to have the toughest gun control laws in the nation. A new study from the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence and the Law Center to Prevent Gun Violence gives the Golden State an "A-minus" grade as part of its state-by-state analysis.

The study says California was one of eight states to pass "major gun reforms" in the wake of the Newtown, Connecticut school shooting. Among the new laws are ones that closed loopholes regarding bans on large capacity ammo magazines and extended background checks on gun sales.
