Engulfed by legal troubles involving three Democratic members, the California Senate won't be holding an annual fundraiser this week.

The Pro Tem Cup, which was slated for this Friday, is a major event in which lobbyists and lawmakers get together.

The decision follows last week's suspensions of Democrat senators Leland Yee, Ron Calderon and Roderick Wright.

Yee and Calderon are the subjects of separate FBI corruption investigations. Wright was found guilty of voter fraud for lying about where he lives.

In announcing the Pro Tem Cup cancellation, Senate President Pro Tem Darrell Steinberg said the legislature will do its job while making sure everyone is operating by the rules.
