"The Sound Of Music Live" is hitting high notes for NBC. A reported 18.5 million viewers tuned in to the live three-hour production to help deliver NBC's highest non-sports Thursday show since the "ER" finale in 2009.

Starring Carrie Underwood and Stephen Moyer, "The Sound Of Music Live" was the most-watched show of the evening.

It easily surpassed the usually unbeatable CBS lineup, led by the highest rated scripted show of the night -- "The Big Bang Theory" -- with 15.3 million viewers.
