Sacramento will be the first city to have an outreach program for Covered California.

While details are still coming together, an enrollment event will be held November 16th.

"We will have a day where people can come where people can come to learn exactly what they need to do to be enrolled. We will have persons and people on the ground to walk them through step by step," Mayor Kevin Johnson said.

Johnson made the announcement this morning outside City Hall. The mayor was joined by Covered California's Executive Director Peter Lee, who says the program will change people's lives.

"We've had thousands of people call in and say, 'I've waited 50 years to have health care that can't be taken away..." Lee said.

While saying the focus is on getting information out, Covered California will release initial enrollment numbers tomorrow.
