You've heard of highway rest stops -- but text stops?

Signs are going up on the New York Thruway and other major state highways directing drivers to "text stops.'' It's part of a campaign against distracted driving. The blue signs have messages like "It can wait, text stop 5 miles.''

More than 90 "texting zones'' are being set up at existing rest stops, parking pull-offs and park-and-ride lots. Governor Andrew Cuomo says there's no excuse to take your hands off the wheel and eyes off the road. Penalties for texting and driving have also gotten stiffer in New York.
