In response to a state lawmaker's plan to put warning labels on sugary drinks, a new poll shows most Californians like the idea. 

This Field Poll being released today shows 75 percent of the voters surveyed agree with Democrat State Senator Bill Monning of Carmel, who wants to require soft drink manufacturers to put a label on their bottles and cans, warning sugary drinks can cause obesity, diabetes and tooth decay.

According to the poll, support for Monning's bill is across the board, with 80 percent of Democrat voters, 64 percent of Republicans, and 75 percent of the independents backing his proposed law.
