A small plane made an emergency landing in Phoenix Park in Fair Oaks Thursday afternoon.
The pilot was reportedly enroute from Salinas to Auburn and was trying to make it to Mather Field when the plane came down.
Officials said he escaped with only minor injuries after being forced to land.
The FAA said the single-engine Piper PA24 lost power and landed hard.
The park was mostly empty at the time, and no one else was hurt.
