New details have emerged in the alleged murder of a federal investigator by her ex-boyfriend, including that they had a teenage daughter together.

During a preliminary hearing in Oakland, a police officer and two nephews of suspect Randy Alana testified that Alana is the father of victim Sandra Coke's 15-year-old daughter who reported her mother was missing in August.

Alameda County prosecutors have charged the 56-year-old Alana with strangling to death the 50-year-old Coke.

Coke was an investigator with the Sacramento branch of the Federal Public Defender's Office.
