Scientists have found what they call "ingredients for life" in a meteorite that fell on California. The space rock known as the Sutter's Mill meteorite contains organic molecules never before seen in meteorites.

Researchers say those molecules might help them learn more about the primordial ooze that helped give rise to life on Earth.

The Sutter's Mill meteorite lit up the California sky with a blazing fireball in April of last year. It's named for the Northern California mill where gold was discovered in the 1840s.
