After nearly six years on hold, developers announced Friday that the Elk Grove Promenade is going to become an outlet shopping center. Mark Putney with the Howard Hughes Corporation says the site will not only have shopping, but dining and a 14 screen movie theater.
"Outlet shopping is the perfect venue for today's shopper and that's what we're planning to deliver in Elk Grove along with the restaurant and entertainment components," he explained.
The previous developer declared bankruptcy in 2009, leaving the project unfinished.
So far, no opening date has been announced.
