Officials with the an El Dorado County water district are not fooling around when it comes to conserving water.  They say that despite the recent rainfall you still need to cut back.

"We're asking for voluntary conservation by 30%," said El Dorado Irrigation District spokeswoman Mary Liynne Carlton.

She said if the board find the voluntary measures aren't working, then next month mandatory conservation may be approved, and that might not be the end of it.

"Then they have the potential to implement a 15% surcharge.," explained the spokeswoman.

The district has already started robocalls and will send out e-mails to let people know they're serious about continued water conservation.
