The weeks-long backlog of unemployment claims, which has dogged the Employment Development Department since a computer glitch during a software upload over the Labor Day holiday, is over.

In a short release EDD communications director Loree Levy says "Every single backlogged claim has been processed."

The statement goes on to state: "From Labor Day Weekend through September 30, the EDD has processed a total of 1.4 million certifications for ongoing benefits from all of our current 770,000 claimants, resulting in $715 million in payments to customers’ EDD Debit Cards. Every certification that could legally be paid was paid."
