It may be an effort to win back frustrated commuters, but bikes will soon be allowed on BART trains.

The ban will officially be lifted on December first with a few restrictions on *where* the bikes can be stored on commuter trains.

BART conducted a study on the issue and found people who do NOT ride bikes don't mind sitting next to them on trains.

The agency is still reeling from the deaths of two workers this past weekend.

BART's ridership and public approval is also down because of the recent strike that left hundreds of thousands of Bay Area commuters stranded.
