Sacramento schools have enacted new guidelines to comply with new laws covering transgender students.

The law allows transgender students to choose which restrooms to use and sports teams to join based on their gender identity.

During a spirited debate period, supporters shared their stories.

Those against the accomodations say gender mixing was not a good idea.

In the end the measure passed unanimously. Opponents are trying to repeal the state law through a referendum vote trying to make the ballot.
