After four days of bloodshed that began Saturday, Kenyan security forces have “ashamed and defeated” the terrorists who had taken control of Nairobi’s Westgate Mall, President Uhuru Kenyatta said.

Five terrorists were killed in the fighting, while 11 others were arrested in connection with the attack.

Kenyatta also said that 61 civilians were killed in the bloody massacre, along with six law enforcement officers.

In addition, more than 200 people were injured in the attacks.

Kenyatta said three floors of the mall had collapsed and that terrorists and civilians were trapped in the debris.

Kenyatta declared three days of national mourning in the country.
