SACRAMENTO -- Carl Harris was booked into the Sacramento County jail and charged with assault with a deadly weapon after deputies say he allegedly stabbed a man at an apartment complex with a screwdriver in the 1100 of Howe Avenue in Sacramento around noon today.

Deputies say Harris approached the man, started talking to him, and then the victim tried walking away.

That's when Harris took the screwdriver from his pocket and stabbed the victim, causing a laceration to his head. Harris took off running, and was hiding upstairs at an apartment complex. A sheriff's K9 unit was called in, and apprehended Harris.

Harris was arrested and booked into the Sacramento County Jail and is being held on $70,000 bail.
