Cops have uncovered and shut down five marijuana growing operations in less than a week. One operation was found this morning inside a suburban tract home on Whigham Street in Tracy. The home was empty at the time of the raid, but officers found the two story structure with rooms divided off with sheets, all aimed at keeping the air conditioning system working and venting the smell while not affecting the other areas of the house. Area residents say the home was a rental property. A nearby bust may have tipped off the growers who abandoned the home. Three people were arrested in last weeks raid. Tracy Police say there is a connection between neighborhoods with high numbers of vacancies and pot busts. Neighbors tell KCRA-3 they find pot growing houses are effecting home values.
